  • What are POP3 and IMAP?

    POP3 and IMAP are two different protocols used to access your mail on our servers.

    When checking your email using POP3, your device will download the emails off our server, then delete those emails off the server. This then stores all emails locally on that computer rather than on our system. Once emails have been received onto one computer, they can't be received onto another computer, so there is no syncing across devices. It also means that should your emails be lost from your device, and you have not made a local backup, you will have no way of retrieving those emails again.

    IMAP is a more popular option. With this method, all emails kept on the servers and your device(s) syncs with our servers in order for you to receive and send mail. This means that you can view all emails on multiple devices, including via our webmail.
